"Something weird is happening," cries Puppy. "Mum's going bonkers in the kitchen, and there are socks on the wall and a huge tree INSIDE the house!" "Relax," says Cat. "It's Christmas Eve - it's like this every year!"

About the Author:
Steve Smallman has taken up writing his own stories after illustrating children's books for over 30 years. He also teaches illustration and mural-painting workshops in schools. When he's not working, Steve enjoys films, television, gardening and walking in the countryside. Alison Edgson was born in County Down in Northern Ireland and now lives near Newport in Wales. When she's not illustrating children's books, Alison spends most of her free time chasing her chickens out of the vegetable garden and brushing the cat, and loves walking her dogs in the countryside.
From School Library Journal:
PreS-Gr 2-Puppy doesn't understand why his human family members are doing unusual things like bringing a tree in the house, "going bonkers doing loads and loads of cooking," and nailing their socks to the wall. Cat explains all about Santa and they decide to wait up for him. No surprises here. They fall asleep and awake to presents for everyone. The super-cute oversize puppy and the occasional "soft-to-touch" fuzzy Santa hats make for an appealing package. However, the story is slight and the rhyming verse is occasionally awkward and difficult to read aloud.-Madeline J. Bryant, Los Angeles Public Libraryα(c) Copyright 2011.
