Australian geneticist Richardson writes out of personal conviction that evolutionary theory and Christian theology are compatible. He develops that conviction, particularly in the second half of this book, with clarity and a passion that will no doubt reassure many Christians troubled by evolutionary theory. The first half of the book, however, is likely to prove most useful for a general audience. In it Richardson articulates evolutionary theory and scientific method so accessibly and succinctly that lay readers will understand science and what scientists do very much better than they perhaps already do. Richardson commendably dispels the perception of science as an impenetrable body of esoteric knowledge.
