From Library Journal:
Designed as an illustrated popular history of America's space programs, this book is well suited for a browsing room. Its historical treatment of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is solid, informative, and entertaining. One of the most interesting facets of the book is the chapter dealing with ancient astronomy, early experimentation with rocketry, and the development of aeronautics. This could have been strengthened by an in-depth discussion of the technological and commerical spin-offs from space programs. The final chapter, "The Future in Space," even though rather brief, is provocative and fascinating.
