About the Author:
Hendrik Hertzberg has been a staff writer and editor at The New Yorker since 1992. He is the author of Politics and has been President Jimmy Carter's chief speechwriter, twice editor of the New Republic, and a four-time National Magazine Award winner. He lives in New York City.
