From the start it should be said that this book of 280 pages is convincing, indeed very convincing. Europe in the International Economy 1500 to 2000 will prove to be an authoritative text which will be of major use to all students of this subject. This is not primarily business history but it is a very compelling book, a good and objective study which gives a complete overview on European economic development and its position in the world from which business historians will benefit.
