About the Author:
Michael O'Rourke is a screenwriter and novelist living in Southern California. An active member of both the Directors Guild and Writers Guild of America, he has written and directed for both network television and film features. His comic fright film Hellgate is considered a mini-cult classic by many horror buffs, and his debut novel Darkling was singled out for praise in Stephen Jones & Ramsey Campbell's prestigious "The Best New Horror". A "best of" anthology from St. Martins Press praised The Old Master, his chilling story of a legendary director's descent into madness in a London filmworks in similar terms.

In 1996 O'Rourke's mainstream political thriller The Poison Tree was published by Simon & Schuster to rave notices by the prestigious literary journals Publisher's Weekly, Kirkus Reviews and many others. The American Library Association nominated The Poison Tree as a "Best Book" of the year. A third novel The Undine was published by HarperCollins in June of '96. A trio of original novels based on the Halloween film series was published by Berkley in 1997 and 1998.

My Little Christmas Tree, Michael O'Rourke's collection of children's Christmas stories, published in a unique format with the bestselling music of Mannheim Steamroller, has become a repeat seasonal favorite since its Christmas 1997 introduction.

Review:
Thoroughly enjoyed it. It is so Austen-like that it felt like reading a Jane Austen novel. Wonderful! -- Another Fan

Very enjoyable. Each person was very unique and had a lot of character. I didn't want the story to end -- A Fan

We think the book is completely wonderful, totally captivating and a marvelously ingenious plot, a romance in the grand style. -- Lord and Lady Duncan McNair
