Contents are Curtis's eulogy of (or address about) Lowell, delivered on Feb 22, 1892; poems written about Curtis written by Lowell in 1874 with an 1887 postscript, here entitled "Epistle to George William Curtis"; and, The Life and Character of George William Curtis" by Charles Eliot Norton, which reprints Norton's speech about Curtis from August 12, 1896 on the occasion of dedication of a bronze tablet honoring Curtis in Ashfield, MA. 8vo, 103 pp, handsomely bound in brown, full crush morocco, 5 raised bands, spine compartments doubled ruled in gilt, as are titles and 1902 date, and the author's initials (EBH) on spine. Covers with four gilt rules as are interior cover edges. Handmade marbleized endpapers. Rear cancel bears handwritten initials "F.S.S" (binder? owner?) Front cover lightly abraded, as are raised spines. Internals fine. Per OCLC, 15 institutions have copies, most with original paper covers.
