Soft cover. Condition: Good. Original wraps 20x25cm, illustrated with wraparound b/w photo of Thesiger leading his camel through the As Saruq Sands to Abu Dhabi during his second crossing, with his illustrated bookplate reproduced inside front. (3), 40pp illustrated in b/w. Wraps good, marked and scratched, interiors very good with some spotting. In his Foreword, Thesiger talks about his book collecting on African and Arabian subjects in relation to his life and travels, and the decision to part with his collection due to his failing eyesight. The list of 200 items was compiled with the help of his editor and biographer Alexander Maitland, and includes Thesiger's personal commentary on some of them. This appears to be rare. Maggs also issued it in a signed and numbered edition of 25.
