Now rendered into English by Charles Cotton Esq. The First Volume only of three books. The first edition. 18.5 x 11.5 cm. (18) 638 pp. gilt blocked tan texured cloth boards, a replacement to the original binding. This appears to be a later nineteeth century binding, decorative endpapers. There is an old owners inscription to the top of the title page, an ex libris from a gentlleman at Lincolns Inn. A good clean tight copy. Cotton's translation has generally been regarded as one of the finest translations ever made.
